The Taguig City government tallied only one new Covid-19 case in the past week as its classification remained at low risk, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Data from Jan. 16 to 22 showed the city government recorded one new Covid-19 case, two deaths, and 44 patients who have recovered.

A total of 19 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals in Taguig including one severe case. Bed occupancy stood at 10.73 percent, equivalent to low utilization rate out of all the total 177 Covid-19 beds.

The average daily attack rate (ADAR) per 100,000 population in Taguig was recorded at 0.35. The ADAR is a seven-day average of new Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population.

The city government said an ADAR below six is considered low risk while six to 18 mean moderate risk and more than 18 is high risk.

“Low risk ang Lungsod ng Taguig dahil sa low ADAR na 0.35 at mataas na bilang ng mga kama sa mga ospital na bakante para sa Covid-19 patients (Taguig City is low risk due to low ADAR of 0.35 and high number of vacant beds for Covid-19 patients in hospitals),” the city government said in a post.

Since July 2022, it said, alert level classifications are based on the cross tabulation of bed utilization rate and ADAR.

The city government advised the public to always wear face masks, isolate if they have symptoms and consult with health centers or hospitals if they have symptoms or have been exposed to a Covid-19 case.
