Taguig replaces quarantine passes issued to residents
Taguig Citu will issue a new Unified Quarantine Pass (UQP) to 277,000 families in the city that can be used to avoid conflict and confusions at checkpoints.
The UQP will be distributed with the help of the barangay officials within 3-5 days.
According to the city government, upon completion of distribution of the new UQP, previously issued quarantine passes will be confiscated by the barangay officials.
UQP will be issued to a member of the family who must be 18 years old and above and has no medical condition. Any member of the household may use the pass as long as they bring one government issued ID every time they go outside.
Senior citizens are also not eligible for the UQP, being most vulnerable to COVID-19.
Moreover, medical professionals; frontliners; and individuals in emergency situations are exempted from the UQP.
According to Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano, the city’s the new quarantine pass will ensure that Taguig will be protected during the duration of Enhanced Community Quarantine.
“Mahaba na ang tinakbo ng Enhanced Community Quarantine, pero hindi pa tapos ang laban. Kailangan nating lalong mag ingat,” Cayetano said.
