Barangay Wawa in Taguig opens new covered court
Barangay Wawa, Taguig City - In a dedication ceremony held last Saturday, May 27, the new covered court in the Multipurpose and Multilevel Building of Barangay Wawa was officially inaugurated, marking an important milestone for the community.
Led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, the third floor of the building was formally opened, providing a versatile space for various occasions, gatherings, competitions, evacuations, and other activities for the residents of Wawa, neighboring barangays, and the entire city.
In her speech, Mayor Lani emphasized the significance of dedicating the facility, stating, "Whenever we open or inaugurate a facility, we always include the dedication because the facility can only serve its purpose when it is first dedicated to the Lord, and all activities conducted here are in accordance with God's purpose for us."
The city mayor also took the opportunity to express her heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, which enabled the construction of the Multipurpose and Multilevel Building and other facilities that cater to the needs of Taguigeños, bringing the vision of a Transformative, Lively, and Caring City and Probinsyudad closer to reality.
Wawa Barangay Captain Philip Buenaflor expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lani and Senator Alan for their infrastructure projects that provide the community with better, well-maintained, and safe venues for the residents.
The dedication rites were attended by Councilor Gigi Valenzuela De Mesa, Chief of Police Col. Roberto Baesa, barangay and SK officials of Wawa, and several department heads from the local government, who showed their support and solidarity.
To conclude the program, a ceremonial toss was conducted, led by Mayor Lani, symbolizing the start of an exhibition basketball game between the Taguig Generals and Wawa Selections, which showcased the spirit of camaraderie and unity among the participants.
The newly inaugurated covered court in Barangay Wawa's Multipurpose and Multilevel Building is expected to become a hub of community activities, fostering social interaction, physical wellness, and a sense of belonging among the residents.
