Vice Mayor Angelo Agcaoili sworn into office
San Juan City welcomed its new Vice Mayor, Angelo Agcaoili, as he took his oath of office in a solemn ceremony held at the San Juan City Hall on Monday, June 26, 2023. The event marked the official transfer of responsibilities from the late Vice Mayor Warren Villa to Vice Mayor Agcaoili, who will now serve as the second-highest official in the city.
The oath-taking ceremony, held during the flag-raising ceremony, was attended by Vice Mayor Agcaoili's family, including his wife Lia, their son Jacob, his father Rico, and his sister Mic. Also present were Congresswoman Bel Zamora, city councilors, and various officials and public servants of San Juan, all gathered to witness this significant moment.
The transition of office and authority from Vice Mayor Villa to Vice Mayor Agcaoili adheres to the provisions stated in the San Juan City Charter. According to the charter, the highest-ranking member of the Sanggunian, based on votes received, assumes the vacant position of the Vice Mayor.
In his remarks, Mayor Francis Zamora expressed gratitude for the support, love, and prayers extended to the late Vice Mayor Warren Villa and called upon the community to extend the same to Vice Mayor Angelo Agcaoili. He emphasized the importance of wholeheartedly supporting Vice Mayor Agcaoili as he assumes his new role as the Vice Mayor of San Juan and Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
