San Juan conducts family planning services
The San Juan City Population Development Office is steadfast in providing family planning services to the women of reproductive age (WRA) in their city. This week, they have conducted various family planning services such as family planning counseling, pap smear, intrauterine device (IUD) and implant insertion, depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) or pills, condom re-supply, and counseling on modern natural family planning.
The city also remains a partner of DKT Philippines in conducting Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RRFP) lecture to WRA at the Out Patient Department. The main objective of this activity is to reduce unplanned pregnancies, increase the proportion of couples who practice family planning, and provide more information on responsible parenthood and family planning.
According to the Population Development Office, they have been providing these services to help women have control over their reproductive health and ultimately improve their quality of life. They also emphasized that the use of family planning methods can help prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce maternal and child mortality rates, and improve the overall health of the community.
The city encourages all women of reproductive age to avail of these services for their own health and wellbeing. They also assured the public that all family planning services are confidential, accessible, and provided by trained health professionals.
