The San Juan City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) recently partnered with the 27th Naval Affiliated Reserve Group (Rescue Recon 1) to conduct a five-day Emergency Rescue Training (ERT) program from February 13-17, 2023.

The training was held at the CDRRMO training facility and Camp Aguinaldo pool in Quezon City. A total of 33 participants took part in the ERT program, which included personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), San Juan CDRRMO, barangay workers, and criminology students.

The program provided them with essential first aid and life support techniques, and aimed to enhance the preparedness of emergency responders during disasters, tragedies, and emergencies. The program also aimed to enhance cooperation among emergency responders and to improve the dissemination of information about disaster response measures.

The ERT program included simulations of various emergency scenarios such as high-rise building collapses, crowd-related crushes and collapses, explosions, and water search and rescue operations. Participants also learned how to properly assess and identify potential threats, establish roles and responsibilities according to the incident command system, and create protocols for handling certain emergencies.

By participating in the ERT program, emergency responders from San Juan City are better equipped to respond to and manage various emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents during times of crisis.
