245 drug suspects, wanted persons in QC arrested

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced on Jan. 30 the arrest of 245 drug suspects and wanted persons in its one-time big-time operations conducted from Jan. 23 to 29, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

QCPD Director Nicolas Torre III said 65 anti-illegal drug operations were launched that resulted in the arrest of 114 suspects and the recovery of P2,341,240 worth of alleged shabu and P2,412 worth of dried marijuana leaves.

One of the entrapment operations was conducted in Barangay Batasan Hills, QC last Wednesday night, Jan. 25, where QCPD Batasan Station (PS 6) personnel collared Wiliam Santos, 36, a tricycle driver.

Santos yielded 75 grams of alleged shabu worth P510,000, and a cellphone.

Meanwhile, the QC police also nabbed 131 persons who were wanted for different cases including rape.

The police director lauded his men for their relentless implementation of the anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality campaigns.

He also assured the public that the city police will continue to conduct such operations to ensure peace and safety in the community.
