QC holds Disc Golf Democ Clinic in Payatas
Barangay Payatas' young QCitizens enthusiastically participated in the Disc Golf Demo Clinic held at the Payatas Controlled Disposal Facility (PCDF) on Saturday, May 13, 2023. The Disc Golf Demo Clinic aimed to introduce non-mainstream sports, such as Disc Golf, to the youth while promoting the PCDF as a park and open space for QCitizens seeking alternative active lifestyle activities.
The event was organized by the Quezon City Sports Office, Office of the City Administrator, in collaboration with the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) and the Disc Golf Association of the Philippines (DGAP). It provided an opportunity for the youth of Barangay Payatas to learn and engage in the exciting sport of Disc Golf.
During the Disc Golf Demo Clinic, the participants were taught the basic techniques and rules of the sport by experienced instructors. The youth had the chance to try their hand at throwing discs towards targets, honing their skills and experiencing the unique challenges of Disc Golf.
To support the QCitizens' engagement in Disc Golf, Divergent Discs generously provided discs that participants could use during their visits to the PCDF. This gesture aimed to encourage the youth to explore the sport further and embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.
The Quezon City Sports Office, together with the Office of the City Administrator, is committed to diversifying recreational opportunities within the city and ensuring that open spaces like the PCDF are utilized for various activities. By introducing non-mainstream sports like Disc Golf, they aim to cater to the diverse interests and preferences of QCitizens, particularly the youth.
