QCinema opens short film contest
The QCinema International Film Festival will provide production grants to chosen entries in this year’s QCShorts competition, according to a report by GMA News.
Now on its 9th year, the festival will be choosing three winners among the submitted short film entries.
Each winner will receive a production grant worth PHP350,000 with ownership of film rights.
The total running time of the film, including the opening and closing credits, must not be more than 20 minutes.
The contest is open to Filipinos aged 18 and above. Interested applicants may visit the QCinema website for the complete requirements.
The festival said that it increased the grant to help local filmmakers “abide by the increased safety protocols” amid the pandemic.
With the grant, filmmakers are expected to follow shooting guidelines such as testing and lock-in safety measures.
Chosen entries are also instructed to shoot in few locations and scale down the number of crew members.
For more information, check out QCinema’s social media page.
Last year, QCinema International Film Festival also gave grants to independent films affected by the pandemic.
