COA awards unqualified opinion to QC gov't
The Quezon City government obtained an ‘unqualified opinion’, the highest audit rating that the Commission on Audit (COA) can render to a government agency or a local government unit.
A first in local history, Quezon City received the highest rating for the fiscal year 2020 with its financial statements, reports, and processes checked as exemplary and in order.
Supervising Auditor of the Quezon City Audit Group Atty. Rex Quieta formally handed the 2020 annual audit report of Quezon City to Mayor Joy Belmonte. Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, City Councilors led by Majority Leader Franz Pumaren, and select department heads witnessed the historic occasion.
Mayor Joy shared that it is a testament of her vision of good governance for Quezon City. Truly a seal of excellence and transparency in the local government’s financial management.
