Pasig strengthens Opportunity 2.0 for out-of-school youth

The Pasig City government, together with members of the Pasig City Youth Development Alliance (PCYDA), officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen the implementation of Opportunity 2.0 in the city last, March 17, 2023. Opportunity 2.0 was launched in Pasig last September 15, 2022, with the aim of providing opportunities for vulnerable out-of-school youth to access education, employment, or livelihood opportunities.

The MOU outlines the roles and responsibilities of various national and local government agencies and organizations (non-government organizations, private sector, educational institutions, youth organizations, among others) in Pasig for the implementation of the Opportunity 2.0 Program in the city.

One of its most important features is the use of a whole-of-city approach in responding to the needs of OSYs from both the public and private sectors, through the establishment of the PCYDA.

The Opportunity 2.0 was made possible with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in partnership with the Pasig City government, Department of Education - Schools Division Office of Pasig, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-PaMaMaRiSan.

The MOU signing solidifies the commitment of all stakeholders to work together towards a better future for the youth in Pasig City.
