Pasig City witnessed a significant assembly as nearly 150 representatives from various barangays, civil society organizations, and city offices convened for the inaugural Pasig City Development Council (CDC) meeting of 2024 at the Maybunga Rainforest Park on February 5.

Presided over by Mayor Vico Sotto, who also chairs the CDC, the meeting aimed to address the distinctive challenges and prospects that the city faces this year. The agenda explored pivotal topics, notably the redevelopment initiatives for the Pasig City Hall campus and upcoming housing programs.

A focal point of the gathering centered around discussions on the proposed First Supplemental Investment Program (SIP) for FY 2024. Led by Mr. Ernie Al Edralin from the Office of the City Mayor, the presentation delved into essential aspects such as the Design and Build overview and updates on the Public-Private Partnership for the People Selection Committee for the Pasig City Hall Campus, presented by Pasig City Administrator Jeronimo Manzanero.

Subsequent to the presentations, CDC members, particularly those representing barangays and civil society organizations, actively engaged by posing questions and offering insights and suggestions regarding the proposed SIP No. 1. After addressing queries and incorporating feedback, the meeting transitioned to the reading of CDC Resolution No. 2024-001, titled "A Resolution Approving and Recommending the Adoption of the Supplemental Investment Program No. 1 of the City Government of Pasig for FY 2024."

The resolution secured approval from CDC members, concluding the session with remarks from Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski. His message underscored the prioritization of barangays, ensuring the approval of their proposed budgets for the year to initiate the implementation of various programs and projects.

The City Planning and Development Office played a pivotal role in orchestrating the CDC session, serving as its Secretariat.
