In the latest weekly flag-raising ceremony, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto touched on several critical points that concern the city and its residents.

Mayor Vico began by acknowledging the presence of various Pasig City officials, departments, personnel, and representatives from national government agencies who attended the ceremony. He also extended his gratitude to the host offices from the infrastructure sector, including the City Transportation Development and Management Office (CTDMO), City Engineering Department, and the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

During his address, Mayor Vico expressed his appreciation for the dedicated city hall employees, specifically those from the command center, peace and order, engineering, building maintenance, traffic enforcers, and the Community Relations and Information Office (CRIO). He commended their extraordinary efforts and overtime work in ensuring the successful execution of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023 and the observance of Undas 2023.

Regarding this year's Undas observance, Mayor Vico noted a decrease in the number of visitors to cemeteries compared to previous years. He attributed this to the changing tradition of visiting departed loved ones on days other than November 1 and the opportunity for people to enjoy a long weekend vacation. He emphasized that the most crucial aspect is that both the BSKE 2023 and Undas 2023 were peaceful and orderly.

The Mayor took pride in the smooth and peaceful conduct of the 2023 BSKE. He highlighted the City Government of Pasig's commitment to fairness and equality for all aspiring BSKE candidates. Mayor Vico proudly stated that this election was likely the most peaceful and honest barangay election in the city's history.

Addressing allegations surrounding the BSKE 2023, Mayor Vico reassured the public that these were fewer compared to previous elections, reinforcing the notion of a peaceful and honest election.

Mayor Vico also expressed his gratitude to various organizations and individuals, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Pasig, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), teachers, principals, and the Schools Division Office - Pasig. Their dedication and hard work in fulfilling their duties from preparation to the proclamation of newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials did not go unnoticed.

Furthermore, he recognized the efforts of DILG-Pasig in facilitating the transition of the newly-elected barangay officials. These officials are given three weeks upon their proclamation to manage the transition and assume office. Mayor Vico assured the newly-elected officials of the City Government of Pasig and DILG-Pasig's readiness to provide assistance, including seminars, training, inventories, and oath-taking ceremonies to ensure a smooth transition.

Mayor Vico also requested outgoing officials to aid in the transition period, emphasizing that with the support of DILG-Pasig, CRIO, and other involved offices and individuals, they anticipate a seamless and peaceful transition.
