Pasig provides cash to 7,892 families outside SAP list
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said 7,892 families not included in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) have received “supplemental SAP” subsidy from the city government.
He also addressed commenters’ questions about the list they used to distribute the supplemental aid funded by the Pasig City government to aid those excluded from the DSWD’s list of qualified SAP beneficiaries.
“May nagtatanong: Bakit may listahan kung nagbabahay-bahay naman? Kung walang listahan, magkakagulo po tayo,” he said.
Sotto said in the vernacular that the task of distributing the government’s financial aid to beneficiary families in Pasig City is not that easy.
He said they have to plan their route of distribution and the distribution itself shouldn’t be hastily done.
Sotto explained that the list they have is based on that from the “Pamaskong Handog” program they implemented last Christmas.
From that list, they removed the names of those that have received SAP from the national government, and those who are not qualified to receive the subsidy.
This, he said, became the masterlist that their team leaders used in the distribution of the supplemental SAP.
He recognized that the list is not perfect and said there might be 1 to 2 percent of qualified recipients not included in the list.
Sotto encouraged his constituents who are not on the list but need aid to coordinate with the local government of Pasig by calling 8643-1111 loc. 550 on Mondays to Fridays, or by sending a personal message to “Ugnayan sa Pasig” on Facebook.
