Pasay distributes assistance to over 80% of families

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government has distributed more than 80 percent of the cash aid from the national government to individuals or families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Rubiano said the city government is doubling its effort in distributing the financial cash assistance to beat the May 15 deadline given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to finish the payout.

The mayor said she is confident that the city government could finish the payout on or before the set deadline.

Rubiano said the city government distributed on April 30 and May 1 a total of P227,590 from the total financial aid of P348-million from the national government.

She said 189,078 individuals or 61,624 received their financial assistance on April 30 while 38,512 individuals or 14,174 families received theirs on May 1.

Rubiano said the city government is also conducting house-to-house distribution of cash assistance to senior citizens and persons with disability listed among qualified beneficiaries.

“Hindi na po kailangan pumunta sa venue ang mga senior citizens at PWDs sapagkat personal pong ihahatid sa kanilang mga bahay ang kanilang ayuda na galing sa mga taga Treasurer’s office kasama ang CSWD (City Social Welfare and Development) ( Senior citizens and PWDs need not go to the venue because the assistance will be personally given to them by the staff from the Treasurer’s Office and CSWD),” Rubiano said.

On May 3, the city government distributed a total of P37,183,000 financial assistance to 37,183 individuals equivalent to 13,380 families.
