The Pasay City government recorded on Friday a 97.39 percent recovery from the dreaded coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

This accounts for 21, 452 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 in the city.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the City Health Office (CHO) reported that the number of COVID-19 cases is now down to 30 and the death toll remains at 546.

Rubiano attributed the declining number of cases in the city to the dedication of the health workers in taking care of the patients.

She said that out the 30 active cases recorded by the CHO, two are new cases who are now being attended to by the city’s health workers for their complete recovery.

The mayor also called on the city residents to continue practicing the basic health protocols for their protection against the virus.

Rubiano also asked the unvaccinated residents to get their jab during the National Vaccination Days on Nov. 29 up to Dec. 1.

She said the city government is hoping to achieve the single-digit number of COVID-19 cases this Christmas season.
