Pasay City continued its efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent the spread of rabies by providing free anti-rabies shots to pets in Barangays 109 and 155. The activity was held on March 7 and 8, 2023, in line with the city's observance of Rabies Awareness Month.

The free vaccination was made possible through the "Si Bantay Mo, Alaga Ko" program of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, which aims to ensure the health and welfare of pets in Pasay City. The initiative is also aligned with the city's H.E.L.P. Priority Agenda, which focuses on promoting the welfare of families in Pasay.

During the two-day activity, hundreds of pet owners from Barangays 109 and 155 lined up to get their pets vaccinated against rabies. The event was a success, with the city government's veterinary team administering the vaccines to dogs and cats of all sizes.

City officials reminded pet owners that getting their pets vaccinated against rabies is not only important for the animals' health but also for the safety of the entire community. Rabies is a deadly disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans through bites or scratches. Vaccinating pets is a crucial step in preventing the spread of the virus and ensuring the well-being of the public.

Overall, the free anti-rabies vaccination program is just one of Pasay City's many efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and ensure the health and safety of its residents. With the support of the local government and responsible pet owners, the city is on its way to becoming a rabies-free community.
