Parañaque to administer Sputnik vaccines to senior citizens

Parañaque City will start vaccinating its senior citizens with Sputnik V on May 4, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Edwin Olivarez said vaccination hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

Those who will go were advised to bring their complete requirements including a photocopy of their Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) ID or any valid ID with an address in Parañaque City together with a photocopy of a medical clearance or certificate.

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccines consisting of 15,000 doses procured by the government from Russia arrived in the country on May 1 (Saturday).

The vaccines were distributed to the cities of Manila, Taguig, Makati, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

City Administrator Ding Soriano confirmed that the city received an initial 3,000 doses of the Russian vaccine on Sunday (May 2) which they will roll out on Tuesday.

Gamaleya’s Sputnik V is the second government-procured vaccine that was delivered to the country following Sinovac’s CoronaVac.

National Task Force against COVID 19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. confirmed that 500,000 doses of Sputnik V will be delivered to the country in May.
