Parañaque solon helps 352 individuals in crisis
Parañaque City 1st Rep. Edwin Olivarez led the distribution of financial assistance to 352 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) on Nov. 22, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Olivarez said 284 students beneficiaries received assistance at the Old San Dionisio Gym.
He said 68 beneficiaries who are fishermen badly affected by typhoon “Paeng” last month were also given financial assistance.
The AICS is a program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in coordination with the office of Olivarez and Councilor Pablo Olivarez.
Mayor Eric Olivarez, who was also present during the distribution of assistance to AICS beneficiaries, announced that his office also distributed food packs to 195 fishermen at the Fisherman Wharf in Barangay La Huerta on Nov. 16. The fishermen were also affected by the typhoon.
The mayor said the food packs were given by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
