Navotas rolls out pediatric vaccination

The City Government of Navotas has started the inoculation of children aged 12 to 17 with co-morbidities against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“We are finally able to start the immunization of children against COVID-19. They are now offered the same protection like us adults. They will now have the same privileges that only vaccinated individuals enjoy.  And soon, going back to school and attending physical classes will be a reality,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

Tiangco urged parents to register their children for COVID vaccination at https://tinyurl.com/NavoBakuna-minors. They may also visit the city's vaccination centers for onsite registration.

Vaccinees will receive a text message once they are scheduled for vaccination. They must go with their parents or guardians to the vaccination site, bringing with them a medical certificate from a pediatrician, and documentary requirements establishing the relationship of the vaccinees and their accompanying adults.

Children with co-morbidities are given priority because they have a higher risk of severe or critical infection and even death from COVID-19.

As of October 21, Navotas has administered 307,944 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to adult residents and workers. Of this number, 160,112 have received their first shot, while 147,832 have completed their doses.
