Senior citizens in Navotas no longer need to visit health centers to get medicines following the rollout of the “Maintenance Mo, Deliver Ko” campaign of the city government of Navotas.

“Our City Health Office, through our barangay health workers, will do a house-to-house delivery of basic maintenance medicines,” said Mayor Toby Tiangco.

“We want our elderly to stay home and not risk going out to get their maintenance. Experts say they are vulnerable to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 that is why it is important to keep them safe and healthy,” he added.

According to the Navotas City Health Office, the city has around 5,000 senior citizens who suffer from hypertension and diabetes.

Beneficiaries will be given one month’s worth of medicines such as losartan, simvastatin, metformin and amlodipine.

“Our BHWs will bring the medicines to your doorstep. Once you receive them, please wash your hands immediately,” Tiangco advised.

The mayor also appealed to the public to stay home and follow the quarantine guidelines.
