Muntinlupa Wraps Up 2nd Batch of Community Maternal and Child Nutrition Training
Muntinlupa City, September 15, 2023 - More than 30 participants gathered at the Putatan Health Center Conference Room to mark the conclusion of the 2nd Batch of the "Training on Community Maternal Nutrition and Infant & Young Child Nutrition Peer Counseling," organized by the City Health Office-Muntinlupa Nutrition Division under the leadership of City Nutrition Action Officer Dra. Magdalena Meana.
During the final day of the training, participants, including Nutritionists, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers, and members of the Breastfeeding Support Group, engaged in practical exercises and evaluations to reinforce their knowledge and skills.
The training also delved into critical topics such as Behavior Change Activities and Community Organizing and Supportive Decision-making. These sessions were facilitated by Ms. Trizia B. Gallevo, RND, a guest speaker from the Las Pinas City Nutrition Office, who shared valuable insights and expertise with the attendees.
The initiative underscores Muntinlupa City's commitment to promoting maternal and child nutrition, empowering local health workers and advocates with the necessary knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the community's health and well-being. This training equips participants with tools to support and counsel mothers and caregivers effectively, ensuring the best possible nutrition for infants and young children in the city.
