Muntinlupa mayor supports anti-tobacco, anti-vape campaign
In a statement made on Monday, May 29, Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon reiterated his full support for the campaign led by the City Health Office against the proliferation of tobacco and vape use. The statement was delivered during the regular flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall.
As the world prepares to commemorate World No Tobacco Day on May 31, Mayor Biazon affirmed the city government's commitment to join this global initiative. The mayor emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and vape products and encouraging the community to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Dr. Juancho Bunyi, the City Health Officer, echoed the mayor's sentiments and reminded Muntinlupa residents to remain vigilant against dengue by following the 4S strategy: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, Self-protection through proper clothing and mosquito repellents, Seek immediate consultation for symptoms, and Say "yes" to space spraying to control mosquitoes.
During the event, Mayor Biazon recognized the outstanding contributions of the Muntinlupa City Police personnel. PSSg. Reynold Aguirre was honored with the Gimenez Award Trophy by JCI Manila, while PCapt. Aminoden Mangonday received the Outstanding Public Servant Recognition from ATC International. Their dedication and commitment to public service were acknowledged and celebrated.
Adding excitement to the program, Alexandra Denise Arciaga Reformado showcased her majorette skills with an impressive intermission number. The Muntinlupa City Brass Band also provided musical entertainment throughout the event, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Mayor Biazon shared his #MondayMotivation on his social media page, encouraging the community to stay motivated and inspired. The mayor's message aimed to uplift the spirits of Muntinlupa residents and encourage them to work towards their goals.
Accompanying Mayor Biazon during the flag-raising ceremony were several councilors, including Konsehal Ivee Arciaga-Tadefa, Konsehal Atty. Rachel Arciaga, Konsehal Allan Camilon, Konsehal Luvi Constantino, Konsehal Atty. Raul Corro, Konsehal Engr. Arlene Hilapo, Konsehal Dado Moldez, Konsehal Ting Niefes, Konsehal Jedi Presnedi, Konsehal Engr. Marissa Rongavilla, and Konsehal Engr. Metong Sevilla. City Administrator Engr. Allan Cachuela, department heads, and city employees were also present to show their support and commitment to the city's initiatives.
