Muntinlupa inaugurates Bahay Kanlungan
The city of Muntinlupa celebrated its 28th Cityhood Anniversary by inaugurating a new facility that will provide care for abandoned, rejected, and neglected elderly people.
The facility, called Bahay Kanlungan, was blessed and inaugurated on March 1, in Victoria Homes, Barangay Tunasan. The Mayor of Muntinlupa, Ruffy Biazon, expressed his satisfaction with the facility, saying that it embodies the statement that Muntinlupa is a caring city. He added that the facility would be used to care for elderly people who have no one to care for them, and who have been referred by the barangay or the Muntinlupa Hospital.
According to Analyn Mercado, the Head of the Social Services Department, the facility is part of the city's 7K Agenda, which is being led by Mayor Biazon. The 7K Agenda includes a focus on Katarungan, which aims to provide justice and care for the people of Muntinlupa.
The Bahay Kanlungan is a priority program under this agenda and is designed to ensure the welfare of the city's elderly population who have no one to care for them.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by various officials, including Congressman Jimmy Fresnedi, Vice Mayor Temy Simundac, City Administrator Engr. Allan Cachuela, and councilors. Fresnedi expressed his happiness with the facility, saying that it is not just a building that can be proud of, but also the service that the city will provide to the elderly residents.
The program was a success, and the city of Muntinlupa can be proud of this new facility that embodies their commitment to caring for their residents.
