MMDA welcomes appointment of assistant GM
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) welcomes the appointment of Finance Service Director Maria Carolina Salgado as the new Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Finance and Administration.
“I would like to convey my full support for AGM Salgado, whom I have known ever since I worked for MMDA in 2017. She is competent and hard-working, and was instrumental in the agency's COA unqualified opinion for four consecutive years,” MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes said.
For her part, Salgado expressed her gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the opportunity to serve under his administration.
“I thank President Ferdinand Marcos for his trust and confidence. Rest assured that I will do my best for the agency and for the public,” Salgado said.
Prior to this appointment, Salgado served as Director III of Finance Service and Caretaker/Custodian, Office of the Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration. She directly supervised the finance management, audit of the performance and expenditures of various departments, and the preparation of the yearly budget of the MMDA. She also coordinates with other government agencies and ensures the faithful compliance of the Authority to the Government Accounting and Auditing Standards.
She started her career with the Metropolitan Manila Commission (MMC), the precursor of the MMDA, in June 1985 as a Revenue Specialist. Through hard work and dedication, she rose from the ranks, from being a Revenue Officer III, Accountant III, Chief Budget Specialist, and Supply Officer V, to her current position as Director III for Finance Service and presently, the concurrent Officer-in-Charge/Caretaker of the Office of the Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration (June 2016-May 2017; Dec 15, 2021 to present).
Director Salgado graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce (Major in Accounting) from the University of Santo Tomas in 1982 and passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Exams the following year. She also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Wesleyan University and is a holder of CSC Career Service Professional eligibility.
