The Metro Manila Council, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to implement the Single Ticketing System in Metro Manila. The signing was led by MMC President and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, MMDA Chairman Don Artes, and LTO Asec. Jay Art Tugade.

The MOA signing is a result of the approval of the Metro Manila Traffic Code by all 17 Mayors of the National Capital Region. The traffic code defines the 20 most common traffic violations and provides for digital platforms for the payment of penalties.

Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Atty. Hubert Guevara and former MMDA Chairman Sen. Francis Tolentino also joined the undertaking.

The Single Ticketing System aims to simplify the process of paying traffic fines by providing a unified platform for the issuance and payment of tickets. Under the system, a motorist who commits a traffic violation in any part of Metro Manila will receive a ticket that can be paid through various channels, including online payment and designated payment centers.

The MOA signing is a significant step towards improving the traffic situation in Metro Manila and ensuring the safety of motorists and pedestrians. The implementation of the Single Ticketing System is expected to begin soon.
