The Petro Gazz Angels are one win away from the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference crown after sweeping the Cignal HD Spikers, 25-21, 27-25, 37-35, in Game 1 of the best-of-three finals on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, according to a report by GMA News.

Lindsey Vander Weide poured 34 points off 31 attacks, two blocks, and an ace for the Angels to inch closer to the crown. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Myla Pablo, meanwhile, added 10 points each.

Earlier, the Creamline Cool Smashers took down the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-22, 22-25, 25-5, 25-19 to go a win away from the third place finish.

Tots Carlos scored 19 points while Alyssa Valdez made 16 points in the Creamline win. Jeanette Panaga, Michele Gumabao, and Jema Galanza, added 14, 11, and 10 points respectively.

The champion and the third place finishers may be known on Tuesday as the PVL returns to action at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
