Volleyball star Alyssa Valdez on Friday tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report by GMA News.

Her handler, the V Management Group, confirmed the development through a Twitter post and said the Creamline team captain is now undergoing mandatory protocols and is recovering from home.

The 28-year-old Valdez first manifested mild symptoms and a confirmatory RT-PCR test showed that she has contracted the virus.

"We'd like to thank those who have sent their well-wishes and prayers her way," the agency said.

"We are one with the rest of the Filipinos in praying for everyone's good health and safety."
