The 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup may have just finished but that doesn’t mean the buzz around outstanding female Filipino athletes has stopped. If anything, it has turned the spotlight on them. And now that all eyes are on Filipino athletes, it’s time to highlight some truly outstanding ones.

Once you’ve memorized their names, don’t forget to look for them at bets-ph.com. Making a well-informed bet is always a recommended strategy, and there’s nothing better than knowing exactly who you’re rooting for. This will also make watching these athletes all the more interesting!

Alyssa Valdez

Whether its indoor, outdoor or beach volleyball, you can bet that Alyssa Valdez excels at it. She became one of the Philippine sports celebrities who partly rose to fame with the reality show with her boyfriend in the Philippine Basketball League.

While playing volleyball, Valdez plays for the Philippine national team in her preferred role as an outside hitter. Valdez will often donate her shoes after matches to help raise money for workers within the Philippines.

Margielyn Didal

This Olympic skateboarder has competed in one Olympic tournament, but Margielyn Didal is undoubtedly eager and prepared to take on the Olympic Games in France in 2024. After placing 7th in the Tokyo Olympics, she certainly has much to prove at the following games!

Didal won many skateboarding tournaments in the Philippines and Asia. She often remarks that she isn’t competing; she’s just having fun with skateboarding as a hobby.

Kiyomi Watanabe

This judo martial artist first rose to prominence in the 2011 South Asian Games when she took the gold medal. Since then, she has participated in many tournaments, with her most recent being the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. There, Watanabe made it to the round of 32 before losing to a Spanish player.

Watanabe has also participated in Japanese regional competitions, thanks to her Japanese heritage. This slight advantage has helped her smash some tournaments and win gold in the Japanese homeland.

Kat Tolentino

This 24-year-old Filipino volleyball spiker plays for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and is undoubtedly the highlight of her team. Kat Tolentino is known for her winning personality and aggressive playing style.

Sadly, Tolentino endured several muscle-related injuries on her knee area, which kept her out of some tournaments. However, Kat hasn’t let her injuries and absence deter her, playing the game as often as she can.

The half-Canadian, half-Filipino will indeed carry the day for her team.

Hidilyn Diaz

This weightlifter has more than enough to be proud of – it must be a feeling of utter pride and joy when you win your country's only-ever gold medal in the Olympics. Hidilyn did just that in weightlifting in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, and has won several medals in other competitions. But her Olympic gold medal is what sets her apart from the rest.

This Philippine Air Force Lieutenant turned weightlifter holds two world records for her weightlifting feats. Born into a full Filipino family, she is the nation's pride for her dedication and effort in the weightlifting world.
