TVJ say goodbye to Eat Bulaga
After 44 years of dominating noon-time television, Tito, Vic and Joey or TVJ said goodbye to the viewers of "Dabarkads" of Eat Bulaga on GMA Channel 7.
Although there were rumors TVJ may soon return to host another variety show on another channel, the trio said May 31 was the last day of their hosting of Eat Bulaga on Channel 7,
"Pumasok po kaming lahat ngayong araw para magtrabaho pero hindi po kami pinayagan ng new management na umere ng live," said former Senate President Tito Sotto, one of the trio.
They are referring to the management of TAPE Inc., the production company behind East Bulaga and controlled by the Jalosjos family.
Joey de Leon said it has been more than four decades since they started hosting the longest running show on Philippine television.
“Kung natatandaan n’yo po, July 30, 1979 nang simulan namin ang Eat Bulaga at 44 years na po ngayong taon na to. Kaya naman lubos ang aming pasasalamat sa mga naging tahanan namin, unang-una amg RPN 9 for nine years. “Ang ABS-CBN for six years at ang GMA for 28 years, thank you very much,” de Leon said.
Tito Sotto also thanked all advertisers of Eat Bulaga since 1979.
Tito Sotto also acknowledged Mr. Tony Tuviera for being a part of Eat Bulaga and thanked the Lord for His bessings and care.
Saan man kami dalhin ng tadhana, tuloy ang isang libo’t isang tuwa,” said Vic Sotto.
The trio did not mention anything about the future of “Eat Bulaga” as well as their next project.
