Bea Alonzo, Dominic Roque: Give us privacy, spare us from cruel comments
Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have appealed to the public to spare them from cruel and hurtful comments as they confirmed reports that they had called off their engagement.
In a joint statement posted on their social media accounts on Sunday, the ex-couple also asked fans to respect their privacy.
"Please understand that this is an extremely painful yet united decision, and we sincerely request for everyone to kindly spare us from more cruel and very hurtful words thrown on social media," they said.
"We kindly request to give us the privacy we need as we navigate our future lives with respect kindness, compassion, and dignity."
Without naming names, Bea and Dominic pointed out that some individuals had discussed their breakup without their consent and even fabricated what they described as "ridiculous stories."
"Unfortunately, some confirmed our breakup without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families," they said.
Bea and Dominic also emphasized that their breakup was not an easy decision but "mutual" and "amicable."
Just days ago, veteran TV host Boy Abunda announced on his program, "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," that the ex-couple had parted ways.
Before that, showbiz insiders like Ogie Diaz and Cristy Fermin also shared the news, citing independent sources.
The public has since speculated about the reasons for their breakup, with some suggesting the involvement of a third party.
Bea and Dominic got engaged in July 2023 at Las Casas.
During the holidays, the former couple traveled together to Sapporo, Japan, and sealed a love padlock on Mount Moiwa.
