ABS-CBN and Star Magic appealed to the public to refrain from spreading false information following Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's breakup announcement.

"They have not done any interviews or issued any new statements as they have already expressed their sentiments on their social media accounts," ABS-CBN and Star Magic pointed out in a joint statement released on Saturday.

"Let's respect their statements and refrain from adding more to what was already said or create fake news," they said.

The network and its talent arm also called on the public to respect the ex-couple and "allow them to heal and move on" as they go through their breakup.

ABS-CBN and Star Magic also declared their "unwavering support" for the Kapamilya stars.

Kathryn and Daniel, known for being one of the country's most popular and successful love teams, confirmed the end of their 11-year relationship on Thursday through separate Instagram posts.

Although Bernardo clarified that they have been "drifting apart for a while now," social media was still abuzz about the cause of their split.
