Beep launches online store
beep™ operator AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) tackles the growing demand for its stored value cards with the launch of its official Lazada, Shopee, and Facebook Marketplace online stores. With the opening of these digital sales channels, AFPI not only makes it more convenient for commuters to get ahold of their own beep™ card, but also gives them the peace of mind that they will not be scammed when buying online.
Amid the shortage in cards for sale in various train stations, AFPI remains committed to making everyday transactions easier and safer for Filipinos.
“We have previously reallocated stocks to the rails and continuously work with our partners to address public demand for beep™ cards. At the same time, we also need to cater to customers who use our payment solution off-rails and, more importantly, address the increasing cases of fraud among unofficial online sellers, thus the launch of our stores in top e-commerce platforms Lazada, Shopee, and Facebook Marketplace. We thank the public for understanding and bearing with us as we tirelessly work to resolve the issues surrounding the supply of beep™ cards and innovate further to find better solutions,” said Sharon Fong, Chief Commercial Officer of AF Payments Inc.
It must be noted that beep™ cards sold at rail stations are priced lower as they are subsidized by AFPI and the Philippine Government under a signed concession agreement in 2016. Commuters are therefore advised that since online stores and other non-rail sectors are not covered by the agreement, prices differ. For the beep™ official online stores (Lazada, Shopee, Facebook Marketplace), the SRP is PHP 188, plus shipping fees. This gives commuters the convenience to purchase beep™ cards anytime, anywhere!
Like all other merchandise for sale in these e-commerce platforms, beep™ cards may also be purchased with discount vouchers as applicable, and offers are good only until supplies last. And so, hit the add-to-cart button now, input your delivery details, and check out using your preferred payment method. A few days later, the card will be delivered to your doorstep!
With the ever-expanding network of beep™ transportation and retail partners, customers have more reasons to maximize the use of their card and earn reward points that can be used to redeem load or other prizes. Upon receipt, users are encouraged to download the beep™ app to register their card to be able to easily check balance, monitor transactions, keep track of reward points, and redeem freebies.
Easier ways to top up!
To complete user convenience, beep™ cards may also be reloaded online in the beep™ app—through select smartphones’ Near-field communication (NFC) feature—and via digital banking and e-wallet partners, including GCash, Maya, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Share Treats, ShopeePay, Venio, Chinabank, LandbankPay, JustPay.to/, Gateway Mobile, Posible, and Payloro.
NFC technology can also be used to “fetch” load to complete the reloading process. After reloading online or over the air, simply position your beep™ card at the back of an NFC-enabled smartphone. This contact will directly transfer the load to that card.
The interoperable beep™ card may be used in LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3, select buses, modern PUVs, Cebu Ferries, and select retail merchants. To be updated on news and promotions, visit the website and follow its official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
