Marikina launches shoe bazaar for back-to-school season
Marikina City kicked off its much-anticipated Back-to-School/Palarong Pambansa Shoe Bazaar earlier today on the first floor of the Multi-Level Parking Building in Barangay Sta. Elena, adjacent to the Marikina City Hall.
The opening of the bazaar was led by Vice Mayor Marion Andres and city councilors, who spearheaded the inauguration. Representatives from the Philippine Footwear Federation Inc., headed by Mr. Tony Andres Sr., as well as local shoe industry stakeholders and officials from selected local government offices, also graced the event.
At the bazaar, visitors can find a wide range of affordable yet high-quality Marikina-made footwear products from 46 participating brands in the city. These products cater to both students preparing to go back to school and attendees of the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2023, serving as great souvenir items.
The shoe bazaar is open daily, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM every Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM every Friday to Sunday. The bazaar will run until August 27, 2023, giving residents and visitors ample time to explore and make their purchases.
This project is a collaborative effort between the Marikina City Government, led by Mayor Marcy Teodoro, and the Philippine Footwear Federation Inc. (PFFI). It aims to promote the local shoe industry and provide affordable footwear options to the public, aligning with the city's commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth.
The Back-to-School/Palarong Pambansa Shoe Bazaar is not only a shopping destination but also a testament to Marikina's rich heritage in shoemaking. Visitors can expect top-notch craftsmanship, stylish designs, and durable footwear products that highlight the city's reputation as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines.
As the bazaar unfolds, Marikina City continues to showcase its dedication to uplifting the local shoe industry and providing residents with access to quality products. The event also serves as a reminder of Marikina's vibrant culture, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to excellence.
