McDonald's Philippines has chosen Marikina City, specifically San Roque Elementary School (SRES), as the first location for its innovative "ReClassified" project in the country. This pioneering initiative aims to support students' education by providing them with sturdy and upgraded classroom chairs.

Mayor Marcy Teodoro, alongside Congresswoman Maan Teodoro, warmly welcomed and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the project during a brief ceremony.

"Let's work together for the future of our youth. Education is the hope of all, and it is everyone's responsibility. Thank you to McDonald's for this strategic partnership in our project," said Mayor Marcy Teodoro.

Under the ReClassified project (A Store Renovated, a Classroom Rejuvenated), classroom chairs that were once used by McDonald's customers have been donated to public schools. These chairs have been reinforced and adapted to better suit the needs of students.

The launch of ReClassified was attended by San Roque Barangay Captain Louie Francisco, officials from the Department of Education-Marikina led by Schools Division Superintendent OIC Dr. Cynthia Ayles, and representatives from McDonald's Philippines, including Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact Adi Hernandez and Director for Ronald McDonald House Charities Marie Angeles.

Currently, the ReClassified chairs are being utilized in a classroom on the third floor of SRES, providing students with more comfortable and durable seating options, thanks to this remarkable partnership between McDonald's and the city of Marikina.
