A total of 922 beneficiaries from the six districts of Manila were awarded Php 5,000 each on Tuesday, May 16, to support their educational expenses, including school supplies and materials for school projects.

The initiative led by Mayor Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Nieto aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by students and their families in meeting the costs of education. Recognizing the importance of education and its role in shaping the future of the youth, the program seeks to provide assistance to deserving students who may require additional support.

The distribution of the Educational Assistance Program is a testament to the commitment of the local government of Manila in promoting equal opportunities in education. By providing financial aid to selected students, Mayor Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Nieto hope to empower them in pursuing their academic aspirations and unlocking their full potential.

During the distribution event, Mayor Lacuna-Pangan reminded the parents of the students that the assistance is specifically intended for their children's educational needs. She emphasized that the funds should be utilized for school-related expenses, such as purchasing school supplies and materials, and not be diverted to pay off loans or household expenses.

By directing the funds towards educational expenses, the local government aims to ensure that the students can fully engage in their learning journey without financial constraints. The assistance program serves as a catalyst for fostering a conducive learning environment and nurturing the intellectual growth of the students.

The presence of Mayor Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Nieto during the distribution event underscored their hands-on approach and commitment to the welfare of Manila's youth.
