Lacson Ave. in Manila to undergo reblocking
The Department of Public Works and Highways- North Manila District Engineering Office (NMDEO) will conduct its road concreting/reblocking works at A.H. Lacson Avenue, Sampaloc Manila, covering southbound sections from Laon Laan to Piy Margal Street, and northbound from Piy Margal to Laon Laan Street on March 25, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is expected to be completed by April 6, 2023.
In his report to Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan, North Manila District Engineer Gerard P. Opulencia stated that the rehabilitation will start at the inner southbound lane with a length of 130.50 linear meters, and width of 4.10 linear meters from Laon Laan Street, causing partial road closure (half lane). While other lanes are open and passable to all types of vehicles. Traffic management schemes on the duration of the repair works were coordinated to the Metro Manila Development Authority.
As early as 11:00 PM today, March 24, 2023, the DPWH NMDEO will start the mobilization of equipment on site, including the breaking and hauling of existing concrete pavement on the following day, followed by pouring and curing of concrete pavement. Motorists are advised of traffic slowdown in the affected areas and to use possible alternate routes.
The project is part of the DPWH NCR’s preventive rehabilitation on national roads around Metro Manila, to provide safer roadways for motorists and commuters.
