Manila approves mid-year bonus of 8,745 LGU workers
Manila City Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso has approved the release of a P350 million from the city's 2021 executive budget for the mid-year bonus of 8,745 city government workers.
Under Ordinance No. 8702, or "An Ordinance appropriating the amount of twenty billion pesos (PHP 20,000,000,000.00) under the General Fund Executive Budget of the City of Manila for FY 2021", about P350 million will be allocated for the mid-year bonus of the Manila City government's regular employees.
The mid-year bonus is set to be transmitted to the local government workers' payroll accounts beginning May 18.
Domagoso said the mid-year bonus for regular city government employees will still push through even when the whole country is still under a state of public health emergency.
"Para po maibsan ang hirap na tatahakin ng ating mga manggagawa natin sa pamahalaang lungsod dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic," Domagoso said.
"We are under the State of Emergency in the city of Manila and at the same time, we are under the State off Public Health emergency as declared by the President," the Mayor said.
