RTU, Mandaluyong to offer free review classes of Civil Service exam
Mandaluyong City Mayor Ben Abalos and Rizal Technological University (RTU) President Dr. Ma. Eugenia Yangco led the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Monday, Feb. 27. The agreement stated that free civil service eligibility examination classes will be provided by RTU to Mandaluyong City employees. This initiative aims to further improve the public service to the citizens of Mandaluyong by providing employees with the necessary civil service eligibility to attain higher positions in the government.
During the flag-raising ceremony held at the city hall, other city government officials and RTU representatives were also present to witness the signing of the MOA. Dr. Yangco emphasized the importance of civil service eligibility in government employment, as many employees are not yet eligible for permanent or promotional positions due to the lack of such eligibility.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) conducts the Career Service Examination, which is the civil service examination administered in the country twice a year. The examination is implemented to determine an applicant's eligibility to work in the government. The examination has two levels: the Sub-Professional Level and the Professional Level.
The Sub-Professional Level is intended for those aiming for first-level government positions that involve clerical and administrative work. On the other hand, the Professional Level is designed for both first and second-level government positions that include job opportunities for both clerical and managerial posts. An examinee taking the Professional Level examination must be a graduate of a four-year course.
The civil service eligibility examination classes offered by RTU will help Mandaluyong City employees attain the necessary eligibility for permanent or promotional positions. The MOA is part of RTU's Extension Service Program, a program that aims to help employees in various industries to improve their skills and knowledge to further enhance their work performance.
