Mandaluyong vice mayor lists key programs and collaborations
Mandaluyong City - In commemoration of National Public Market Week, Market Chief Randy Garcia took the opportunity to provide an update on the ongoing programs of their office. During the event, the pioneering stall owners of Marketplace 1 and 2 were also honored for their hard work and dedication, as they continue to thrive to this day.
The celebration continued as the Vice Mayor extended her congratulations to the students, heads, and coaches who brought pride to Mandaluyong City. The city achieved remarkable success, with students earning Silver and Bronze medals at the 2023 Big Bei Bay Math Olympiad and Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the 2023 Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad. Furthermore, the Zumbalicious group from Blk 41, Barangay Addition Hills emerged as the Over-all Champion at the Zayaw Zaya Dance Showcase held on April 23 at Quezon Memorial Circle. Their achievements showcased the talent and dedication present within the community.
In a significant development for the city, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed this morning for the 1st Electric Jeepney Modernization Program, which will be implemented in Mandaluyong City. This marks the first-ever initiative of its kind in the country, reflecting the city's commitment to sustainable transportation and environmental stewardship.
Furthermore, another Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Mandaluyong City and the province of Samar, led by Governor Sharee Ann Tan. The agreement outlines a Scholarship Program - Residency Training for their pediatric doctors at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center Department of Pediatrics. This collaboration between the two local government units demonstrates a strong commitment to capacity-building and the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos expressed her warm welcome to the pediatric doctors from Samar, emphasizing the city's openness and willingness to support their educational and professional development. This partnership aims to strengthen the healthcare sector and promote collaboration among medical professionals from different regions.
