Malabon OFWs attend financial literacy seminar
On Wednesday, March 22, 65 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Malabon City attended a financial literacy seminar organized by the Overseas Filipino Bank (OFB). The event aimed to educate OFWs on the importance of saving and preparing for emergencies.
During the seminar, OFB representatives also encouraged the attendees to open a bank account and start saving. This would help them achieve a more secure financial future and provide them with peace of mind. The seminar was made possible with the support of various organizations including the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA-NCR), Kalinga, Kaagapay, and Kabisig OFWs Organization (KKK).
The OFB recognizes the sacrifices and hard work of our OFWs, and it is committed to providing them with the necessary tools and resources to achieve financial stability. By organizing financial literacy seminars, the OFB hopes to empower OFWs to make informed financial decisions and improve their overall financial well-being.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval of Malabon City expressed her appreciation for the initiative and encouraged more OFWs to take advantage of the services offered by the OFB. She emphasized that saving and financial preparedness are crucial for all OFWs, and that the OFB's financial literacy seminars provide valuable knowledge and skills to help them achieve their financial goals.
The Financial Literacy Seminar is just one of the many initiatives of the OFB to support and empower our OFWs. It is a testament to their commitment to provide accessible and relevant financial services to our modern-day heroes.
