Malabon holds earthquake drill

The Malabon city government joined the nationwide earthquake drill on Thursday, March 9, 2023, to ensure the readiness and knowledge of its residents in case of a disaster.

Led by the Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the City Engineering Department, City Health Department, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine National Police conducted various scenarios to simulate an earthquake and its aftermath.

The drill was participated in by all barangay officials, as well as teachers and students from different schools in the city, to ensure that everyone is prepared and equipped with the necessary skills in times of calamities.

The exercise aimed to test the efficiency of the city's emergency response system, identify areas for improvement, and raise awareness among the public on disaster preparedness.

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval commended the city's disaster response team and other government agencies for their efforts in making the drill a success. The city government has always placed a high priority on disaster risk reduction and management, and has continuously implemented various programs and activities to prepare its residents for any eventuality.

Through this drill, the city hopes to raise the level of preparedness of its residents and minimize the impact of any potential disaster in the future.
