The distribution is under the Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government.

According to the city government, each beneficiary received P3,000 for the third and fourth quarters of the year.

The city government has already distributed social pension to the beneficiaries in barangays Muzon, Ibaba , Baritan, Potrero, Acacia, Tonsuya, Longos, Tinajeros, Tugatog, Hulong Duhat, Flores, Dampalit, Concepcion, and Bayan-bayanan.

It said the pension distribution will continue in other city barangays in the following weeks.

Senior citizens must be registered in the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs Malabon (OSCA) to become beneficiaries of the program.

SPISC is the additional government assistance program of the DSWD, which provides a monthly stipend of P500 to increase the daily subsistence and other medical needs of indigent senior citizens.

The program seeks to reduce hunger and protect the seniors from neglect, abuse, and deprivation.
