Joshua Villena, a young Filipino artist, announces the launch of his first art exhibition in New York City, featuring his collection titled “Apollo Street”, which incorporates fashion, NFTs, and digital media. This collection features what he describes as an ‘atypical art style’, detailed by ‘ragged lines and bold strokes’.

Villena’s potential in art was realized when he was only 8, and has been edified by numerous wins in national art competitions in the Philippines, United States, and around Europe. His work has been featured in New York, Canada, and Paris, among others.

“It has been a joy to finally be able to share my art to the world with Apollo Street, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my loving family, friends, and the iACADEMY Community. iACADEMY has supported me since day one and I always say that I wouldn't be where I am today if they hadn't believed in me and offered the Vanessa L. Tanco - Presidential Scholarship. To launch Apollo Street, my upcoming show, is also to pay tribute to all the people from iACADEMY who have supported and guided me through the years.” says Villena.

Aside from this, Joshua was an outstanding student at top design and tech school in Makati CIty, iACADEMY, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation. During his stay at iACADEMY, he bagged multiple awards at Tarlac National Painting Contest, ASEAN FEUture On-the-Spot Poster-Making Contest, which was sponsored by the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, and the ASEAN 52nd Founding Anniversary Poster-Making contest, where he won first prize.

“We are truly proud to have witnessed how Joshua bloomed to be the artist he is today! This, among many other things, is why we at iACADEMY strive to provide the best education in a non-traditional way. We strongly believe that this enables our students to truly shine, just as Joshua has,” says Ms. Vanessa Tanco, President and CEO of iACADEMY.

Awarded “Leading Arts and Design Education Provider, Philippines 2022”, and “Most Innovative Education Provider in Philippines 2022” by the World Business Outlook Magazine, iACADEMY continues its pledge to reinvent education to develop game-changers to lead the advancement of society. iACADEMY has opened its doors to aspiring creatives of the Philippines: Admissions for School Year 2023-2024 are now on-going. Interested students may apply through iACADEMY.edu.ph.
