Makati City, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT), made history as it introduced the country's inaugural Hop-On, Hop-Off (HOHO) bus tours. The launch took place yesterday at Glorietta 2, attracting a crowd eager to experience this exciting new tourism venture.
Led by the visionary Mayora Abby, Makati was chosen as the pilot city for the HOHO bus tours due to its rich heritage sites and emerging destinations. The city boasts a blend of historical landmarks and modern attractions, making it an ideal location to showcase the beauty and diversity of the Philippines.
The event saw the presence of esteemed guests and officials, including Cong. Luis Campos, DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, Cong. Kid Peña, city councilors, DOT-NCR Regional Director Sharlene Batin, and Ms. Chrissy Roa, Marketing Head for Ayala Malls Group. Their attendance demonstrated the unified commitment towards promoting Makati's tourism potential and enhancing the visitor experience.
During the launch, Mayora Abby emphasized the significance of the HOHO bus tours for Makati's tourism industry. She expressed her enthusiasm for showcasing the city's unique attractions and cultural heritage to both local and international tourists. The HOHO bus tours provide a convenient and flexible way for visitors to explore Makati's notable landmarks, allowing them to hop on and off at their preferred destinations.
The HOHO bus tours will cover a carefully curated route, encompassing Makati's iconic sites, including the Ayala Triangle Gardens, Ayala Museum, Greenbelt, and the Makati Central Business District. Passengers will have the freedom to disembark at any designated stop, explore the area at their leisure, and later hop back on the next available bus.
This innovative tourism initiative is set to benefit both tourists and local businesses alike. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Makati's vibrant culture, savor its diverse culinary scene, and engage in retail therapy at its renowned shopping centers. Meanwhile, local establishments will enjoy increased foot traffic and exposure, contributing to the city's economic growth and vitality.
The launch of the HOHO bus tours aligns with Makati's vision of becoming a premier tourist destination. It exemplifies the city's commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive tourism, creating memorable experiences for tourists while fostering the growth and development of local communities.
As the first-ever HOHO bus tours in the country, Makati sets a precedent for other cities to follow suit and explore similar initiatives that enhance tourism offerings. By leveraging its unique heritage and engaging destinations, Makati paves the way for a more dynamic and immersive tourism landscape in the Philippines.
Residents and visitors alike can look forward to embarking on an exciting journey through Makati's cultural tapestry, all aboard the HOHO bus tours.
