Inasal na manok among best-rated meat dishes in the world
Inasal na manok has earned a place among the top 50 best-rated meat dishes globally, according to the international food database Taste Atlas.
Based on the list published on its website, the dish secured the 47th spot with a remarkable 4.6 rating.
Described as a "unique Filipino grilled chicken dish," inasal employs various chicken cuts marinated in a mixture of vinegar and spices such as lemongrass, garlic, and ginger, TasteAtlas said.
During grilling, the meat is brushed with the annatto-infused oil which provides the chicken with an appetizing golden color and a unique peppery flavor, it added.
TasteAtlas also identified specific restaurants renowned for serving exceptional inasal na manok, including Aida's Manokan in Bacolod, Nena's Beth at Manokan Country in Bacolod, Island Chicken Inasal in Bulabog, Balay Dako in Tagaytay, and Barrio Inasal in Iloilo City.

The top spots on the list were claimed by lechona from Colombia (5.0 rating), dongpo pork from China (4.9 rating), asado from Argentina (4.8 rating), picanha from Brazil (4.8 rating), and shashlik from Russia (4.8 rating).
Other notable entries were karaage from Japan (4.7 rating), carnitas from Mexico (4.7 rating), chateaubriand from France (4.7 rating), carne asada tacos from Mexico (4.7 rating), and pernil from Puerto Rico (4.7 rating).
TasteAtlas clarified that the ranking was based on 60,432 ratings submitted by its audience as of Wednesday, of which 40,738 were considered "legitimate."
The platform said it employed various mechanisms to discern genuine users from "bot, nationalist, or local patriotic ratings."
"TasteAtlas rankings should not be seen as the final global conclusion about food. Their purpose is to promote excellent local foods, instill pride in traditional dishes, and arouse curiosity about dishes you haven’t tried," the website added.
