Several LGUs announce class suspensions
Some local government units (LGUs) nationwide have announced class suspensions amid heavy rains and in anticipation of Super Typhoon Mawar possibly entering the country, according to a report by CNN Philippines.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Mawar may enter the Philippines' weather monitoring area Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Here are some of the LGUs that suspended classes for all levels:
Cebu province
Alcoy
Argao
Consolacion
Minglanilla (until May 27 for college students)
Naga City (Elementary to High School)
San Fernando
Talisay City (public)
Isabela
Echague
Laguna
Calamba
Rizal (Nursery to Grade 12)
National Capital Region
Marikina (until May 27; All NSTP and other related activities set for May 28 are also suspended)
Negros Occidental
Cauayan
Hinigaran
Pampanga
Macabebe
Palawan
Roxas
