MWSS, Manila Water donate soaps to hospitals
The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System-Corporate Office (MWSS-CO) on Friday took part in the “Maging Ligtas, Mag #Safewash” donation handover event for hospitals held at the MWSS Multipurpose Hall, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.
Jonathan Lamug, Acting Department Manager for Policy, Planning, and Public Relations, represented the MWSS-CO during the event.
The event was organized by the Manila Water Foundation (MWF) in collaboration with Procter & Gamble Safeguard Philippines and geared toward providing hand soaps to government hospitals and primary healthcare centers in the East Zone concession area.
In his speech, Lamug lauded the MWF’s efforts, saying they had made a significant contribution toward realizing the universal right of all communities to clean and potable water.
He underscored the joint activity of the MWSS and the Integrated WASH program team of the MWF to support the enhancement and rehabilitation of water supply systems in Barangay Magsaysay in Infanta, and Barangay Pagsanghan in General Nakar, both in Quezon province.
“The MWSS-CO maintains a steadfast and unyielding commitment to support initiatives like the Integrated WASH program that aim to better the quality of life for communities across the Philippines. We believe in the transformative power of water and sanitation and are dedicated to leveraging our resources and expertise to foster a nation where everyone has access to clean, safe, and potable water,” Lamug said.
Key representatives from government hospitals and primary healthcare centers, including the Philippine General Hospital, were present during the event.
