Maynilad restores water services in Sobriedad
Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Monday said customers can expect the resumption of water services in Sobriedad, Manila, as it has completed pipe realignment activities in the area, according to a report by GMA News.
In separate advisories posted online, Maynilad said it completed the welding of the new cross-under pipe at 2 a.m. this morning, and water services are expected to resume at 4 p.m. the same day.
“Kasalukuyan nang pinapadaloy ang tubig sa nasabing pipeline, at patuloy na ang build-up ng water pressure sa pipe network,” the advisory read.
“Dahil dito, ang mga lugar na dapat ay makakaranas ng extended service interruption hanggang bukas ay magkakaroon na ng tubig ngayong araw, ayon sa kanilang original na schedule,” it added.
Maynilad announced the water service interruptions earlier this month, due to flood control activities of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
It was initially scheduled for October 25 to 28, but was pushed back due to public demand.
Maynilad Water Supply Operations Head Engineer Ronald Padua over the weekend said the interruptions may take longer than anticipated.
“Mayroon kaming nakikitang bahagyang pag-delay doon sa actual implementation doon sa site… Mag-e-extend ng possible between five to 14 hours ‘yung pagbalik ng supply sa kanila,” he said in a report on GMA’s “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday.
The service interruptions cover Las Piñas; Makati; Manila; Parañaque; Pasay; Bacoor; Cavite City; Imus; Kawit, Cavite; Noveleta, Cavite; and Rosario, Cavite.
Maynilad currently serves customers in the west zone, which covers the cities of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon, Valenzuela. It also services certain areas in Cavite such as the cities of Bacoor, Cavite, and Imus; and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario.
