Maynilad completes repair of primary line in Zobel Roxas
Maynilad Water Services, Inc. has completed the patch welding on the damaged primary line along Osmeña kanto ng Zobel Roxas in Makati. After a few hours of curing, all network valves will slowly be reopened to refill the 2,200mm-diameter pipeline with water.
Following this, Maynilad will conduct flushing operations on the newly repaired primary line to clean it before finally allowing water to flow to customers in certain areas of Makati, Pasay, and Parañaque.
Maynilad has also completed all its parallel activities, such as leak repairs in other areas and maintenance activities in Espiritu and Villamor Pumping Stations, which were carried out simultaneously to avoid separate service interruptions. As a result, water has already been restored to affected customers in Manila and some parts of Pasay according to the schedule.
The energization of the primary line is estimated to take 8 hours. Depending on the distance and elevation of the customers and the strength of the volume withdrawal in the pipe network, water supply will gradually return to affected areas in the following hours, according to the original schedule.
Meanwhile, the deployment of 95 mobile water tankers and the filling of 11 Stationary Water Tanks will continue until water service is fully restored to all affected areas.
